Former Kenmore teacher now opera soloist

opera soloist Kathleen Moore Sasnett, former Kenmore Elementary music teacher, will sing the soprano solos when the Seattle Choral Company performs Verdi's Requiem March 15 at 8 p.m. at Meany Hall at the University of Washington.
   Sasnett has understudied Maddalena in Andrea Chénier and Liu in Turandot for the Seattle Opera this past season. In April, she will sing Leonora from Il Trovatore for the Seattle Opera Preview program. She is working under the direction of Elizabeth Lathrop Moore, pianist and coach for the Seattle Opera.
   Last summer, Sasnett and her family traveled to Italy where she studied to perfect the Italian language. In addition, she continues to teach beginning and advanced voice in Bothell. Her husband, Roger Sasnett, has been a teacher at Northshore Junior High for the past 4 years and her children, Joey, Nicole, and Ben all attend Northshore schools.
