City to celebrate with parade, bassets, fun

All Fool's Day The City of Woodinville celebrates its fourth anniversary along with the community's twentieth annual All Fool's Day Parade and Basset Bash on Saturday, March 29.
   Heading the city's day long events is the All Fool's Day Parade, sponsored by the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce. Beginning at 11 a.m., the unique parade features local kids, community floats, music, and surprises. Former fire chief Jim Davis will serve as the grand marshal. Originating at the Woodinville Park & Ride on 140th, the parade travels west on NE 175th Street in downtown Woodinville.    Hundreds of basset hounds will be competing in the annual Basset Bash at 1 p.m. at the Sorenson School ball fields next to Woodinville City Hall. Awards are given for Longest Ears, Best Waddle, and Best Costume. Even a King and Queen Basset will be crowned at the grand finale.    The Woodinville Farmers' Market will open its fourth season with an All Fool's Craft Show. The market will be open Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
   This year brings about a few changes with the Children's Activity and Resource Fair which will be held at Woodinville Towne Center with an opportunity to receive information on community resources.
   Entertainer Tim Noah will perform two benefit concerts at 1:30 and 3:30 in the C.O. Sorenson School Gym for the Wilmot Gateway Park, Woodinville's connection to the Burke-Gilman Trail.
   The new Visitor & Community Information Center will open its doors for the first time in the lobby of City Hall.
   The City of Woodinville's fourth anniversary party, at which a record-sized birthday cake will be served, will be held at 1 p.m. on the south side of City Hall.
