What is an excellent school?
Community members are invited to share ideas and thoughts about the measurements to be used to judge the quality of our schools and district. What kinds of objective data should be looked at? Drop-out rate, test scores, number of bus accidents, and the percentage of "yes" votes on levies are possible measurements. What subjective measurements should be included? Friendly staff, parent satisfaction, and clean schools have been suggested.
Meetings to collect this data will include parents, community members, teachers and staff, and administrators. The brainstorming session for community members will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. March 31 in Ricketts Auditorium. RSVP to Kathy Gordon at 489-6309.
