Ireland trip for potato recipe
If you have a favorite original potato recipe, are over 18, and live between Olympia and Mount Vernon, you can enter a recipe contest being sponsored by NatureMark, producers of russet potatoes, and Safeway. Duvall cook wins recipe contest
Duvall resident Lori Zuclich created an original dessert recipe, caramel apple cake, which won her a $2,500 prize in the Women's Day Butter Buds recipe contest.
Northshore YMCA Teen Programs is sponsoring a free support group on alternating Tuesdays, starting April 8th at Sorenson gym from 7 to 9 p.m. for parents of pre-teens and teens. Pam Dawson, M.S., and Mary Jo Lake, M.A., will be co-leading the groups. Parents are encouraged to bring specific problems/situations for discussion, brainstorming, and/or role-playing. Dahlia tuber sale
The Puget Sound Dahlia Association will hold its annual public tuber sale April 4 from 1 to 8 p.m. and April 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church, NE 82nd and 18th NE in Seattle. Hundreds of quality dahlia tubers will be available, and dahlia experts will be on hand to answer questions. Sale-goers are asked to enter the basement meeting room from the alley. Rhododendron Society to meet
The Cascade Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society will hold their monthly meeting at the Bellevue Botanical Garden April 8 at 7:30 p.m. The program will feature "A Hybridizer's Roundtable." The public is invited. Call 844-2090.
Arbor Day seedlings
