Reminder: zoning meeting scheduled
Eastside residents will have an opportunity to learn more and speak out about the county's plan to simplify zoning regulations when the Metropolitan King County Council's Growth Management Committee holds the first of four community workshops in Bellevue next week.
More than 170,000 land owners in King County have received a letter detailing the proposal. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 2 from 6-8 p.m. at the King County Department of Development and Environmental Services, 3600 136th Pl S.E., in Bellevue.
Development regulations for many unincorporated King Count land owners will be overhauled under the legislation unveiled recently by Councilmember Peter von Reichbauer and approved by King County Executive Ron Sime.
"This workshop will allow residents and elected officials alike to roll up their sleeves and get to work on reforming what is currently a very complicated and non-user friendly set of regulations," said von Reichbauer. "I encourage all residents affected by these changes to attend at least one of the seven public hearings the county will hold on this issue."
The county also has set up an Internet site where residents can access information relating to their specific property: http://www.metrokc.gov./ddes/gis.
