Wendy Wiedenmeyer, the new executive secretary for the city manager, was introduced at last week's City Council meeting. Wiedenmeyer comes from Seattle Pacific University where she worked in the University's advancement department managing alumni affairs, donations, and customers of the University.
Wiedenmeyer is originally from Montana. "After I graduated from Montana State University, I traveled in Communist countries and worked in refugee camps in Thailand and Hong Kong. These experiences made me appreciate our government here, and I've been an active participant in and proponent of the process since that time," Wiedenmeyer said.
Currently she lives in Magnolia, but plans to move to Woodinville soon. "We are very pleased to have her on board," City Manager Joe Meneghini said.
The executive secretary is a new position at the city. Wiedenmeyer will serve in the executive department, in a position that has been "long overdue," according to Meneghini.
Wiedenmeyer will be doing research analysis, writing and composing reports and publishing the results, and also will also be assisting the police department, according to Meneghini. Other duties will include acting as liaison between the city and outside public, answering city and business questions.
