Molbak's announces executive promotions
Molbak's has announced the promotion of Mike Coie to president and chief executive officer, and Kirsten Molbak's move to vice-chairman of the board of directors. Egon Molbak remains chairman.

Coie joined Molbak's in 1993 as president and chief operating officer. Prior to that, he was a vice chairman at Security Pacific Bank and worked 14 years in the Seattle office of Touche Ross & Co. as a partner in charge of management consulting.
Kirsten Molbak grew up in rural Woodinville on the site of the present day Molbak's, where her parents started their family horticultural business 40 years ago. She studied interior design at the University of Washington and received a BA in art from Eastern Washington University. After working as an interior designer in Spokane, she returned to the family business in Woodinville to develop and manage the floral, furniture, Christmas, and gift shops, as well as the Seattle Garden Center. She has been named 1997 president of the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce.
