Garden open house
Woodinville Water District will be holding its annual Spring Garden Open House April 19th from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. On site will be master gardeners, master recycler composters, the Woodinville garden design team of Jil and Howard Stenn, and Dave McDonald of Seattle Public Utilities, who will be conducting a grasscycling demonstration. There will be demonstrations on building a hot compost pile, bedding a worm bin, and grasscycling. Workshops will be conducted on soils, proper planting, and irrigation. A free bag of Cedar Grove Compost will be given away to participants attending a demonstration or workshop. Light refreshments will be served. Participants will learn how to have a healthy, waterwise landscape. Call 483-9104, ext. 302 for demonstration and workshop times.
Free white dogwoods
Ten free white flowering dogwood trees will be given to each person who joins the National Arbor Day Foundation during the month of April. The trees will be shipped postpaid at the right time for planting in April or May with enclosed planting instructions. The six- to twelve-inch trees are guaranteed to grow.
