Family bike ride on May 10
Bothell Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a family bike ride May 10 from the Sammamish Golf Course to Matthew's Beach on Lake Washington. The level route is approximately 9 miles one way. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and all riders must wear helmets. Bring a sack lunch and water. Snacks and drinks will be provided at Matthew's Beach. The group will leave at 9 a.m. with a 3 p.m. return planned. Cost is $5. Preregistration is required. Call 486-4377, ext. 4377.
Free clothing pickup
Community Services for the Blind will pick up reusable clothing and household items from homes and use them to support local programs for visually impaired persons. Call 767-2177 or 1-800-472-2244 to find out when the next free pickup is scheduled in your neighborhood.
Spring iris show
The King County Iris Society will hold an Early Blooming Iris Show on May 10 from 10 a.m. to to 8 p.m. and May 11 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Crossroads Shopping Center in Bellevue. The public is welcome to exhibit. For more information, call 235-7065 or 822-3875.
The 3rd annual Celebrations Home Tour is May 1 with homes open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Bear Creek Country Club, and benefits the Assistance League of the Eastside. For information and reservations, call 882-1261.
New rose group
A new rose society is forming on the Eastside. The first meeting will be May 5 at 7 p.m. at the Kirkland Library, 308 Kirkland Ave. The speaker will be nurseryman Robert Nelson from Cottage Creek Nursery. Call 228-3642.

"Creating Good Landscaping Design" will be the topic at the Spring and Summer Gardening series at Woodinville Library on April 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
