Multi-Service Casino Night and Auction

   Ante Up for Families, an annual fundraiser for the Multi-Service Centers of North and East King County, will take place from 6:30 to 11 p.m. May 9 at the Hollywood Schoolhouse in Woodinville. The evening will include silent and live auctions, Las Vegas-style games of blackjack, roulette, wheel of fortune, and craps, and a catered Mediterranean buffet. Admission is $35 per person.    Among the items up for bid during this year's live auction are a tour of MSNBC and lunch with the managing editor; a week on Kauai in a Poipu Beach condo; and more. Proceeds from the event will benefit low-income Eastside residents who seek food, shelter, financial assistance, and other emergency services from the Redmond-based agency.

Pirates of Penzance opera tickets benefit Hooterville Pets

   Hooterville Pets and Safehaus, a non-profit pet adoption and supplies center in Woodinville, has teamed up with Bellevue Opera, and has a limited number of tickets to sell for the upcoming performance of Gilbert and Sullivans' The Pirates of Penzance. The show opens at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue on Friday, May 30, at 8 p.m. It continues May 31, June 6 and 7 at 8 p.m., and Sun, June 8 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 with a portion of the proceeds donated to help with the care and adoption of orphaned and abandoned pets. Performing Arts Center meeting

   The Northshore Performing Arts Center Foundation invites the public to attend their next Steering Committe meeting, Wednesday, May 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ricketts Auditorium in Bothell. The foundation goal is to build a world-class performing arts center in the Northshore area. A community discussion will follow committee progress reports.
