Niemeyers to celebrate 50th Anniversary

50th anniversary Betty Berto and Harold (Hal) Niemeyer, Jr. were wed on May 9, 1947, at the Community Methodist Church in Bothell. Both from Northshore pioneer families, the Niemeyers attended Bothell High School, moved to Elllensburg for their education, and then back to Bothell. Hal's grandparents were Kenmore pioneers. His grandfather, Ed, ran the logboom for the North Bend Timber Co. and Betty's family were Bothell pioneers.
   Hal managed Dickson's Variety Store on Main Street and then bought the Redmond Dime Store. Later, he became Transportation District Supervisor for Lake Washington School District. Betty retired as a school bus driver from Lake Washington School District. Their three children, Dick, Mark, and Bev, attended Northshore schools and graduated from Bothell High. The Niemeyers have six grandchildren and currently reside in Leavenworth.
   A "Celebration of Love" will be held on May 10 from 1-4 p.m. at the Bothell Senior Center. Please RSVP to Bev at 488-8260 if you are interested in attending.
