SR-522 accident takes one life
A two-car collision accident on State Route 522 left three injured and one woman dead on April 26. The accident occurred just past the SR-9 overpass around 9 p.m. when a 1984 Honda Accord traveling eastbound attempted a U-turn and was struck by a 1988 Toyota Tercel, according to Washington State Patrol Communications Officer Troy McCallister.
Lien Nguyen, a 59-year-old Seattle woman in the Honda, suffered a pelvic fracture and was transported to Harborview, where she died the next day. Two other female passengers, 14 and 10, were taken to Harborview for head and other injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Toyota, a 26-year-old Snohomish woman, suffered cuts, scratches, and lower back injuries. She was treated and released from Evergreen Hospital. All involved had been wearing their seatbelts.
