Northshore Sports Update

The 1997 Kingco-Metro baseball playoffs will be hosted by Woodinville High School on May 15, 16, and 17 at WHS and the Bannerwood fields in Bellevue. Tiebreakers are May 12 and 13 at both sites. Joe Meagher, WHS athletic director, is tournament director. The Inglemoor Vikings are the only Northshore team to make these playoffs.
   The Inglemoor and Bothell fastpitch softball teams will be in Kingco playoffs on May 14 and 15.
   The Woodinville soccer team will be going into the May 13th playoffs in 4th place, and Inglemoor holds down 6th place.
   The Inglemoor girls' track team is in the second spot after beating Bothell and Woodinville at the Northshore track meet. Inglemoor's Nicole Willis was the big winner there in 200, 100h and 300h. The Inglemoor boys' team won the Northshore meet, breaking their second place tie with Woodinville. Woodinville's Shawn Murphy won the 1600m, and Brandon Roche won the 800. Roche broke a school record in the 400. Sean McGrath won the high jump. The Vikings' Terry Lin and Ryan Bottjer won the shot put and javelin. The Bothell Cougars had two two event winners: Melissa Chapman in 1600 and 3200, and Sam Eastman in 100 and 300h.
   Cedarcrest High's Derek Berg won the Wesco AA league championship and medalist honors at Useless Bay golf course last week. He shot a 1-under-par 71.
