The public is invited to a ground breaking service for Woodin Valley Baptist Church on May 25 at noon on the church property at the corners of 228th St. SE and 53rd Ave. SE, two and a half miles due north of Woodinville's city center. A potluck meal will follow the service on the church grounds.
The first services for Woodin Valley Baptist Church were held in December of 1985. A year later, the church organized with 23 members, changing its status from a mission outreach to an independent, autonomous Baptist church. The church's first location was the Woodinville Lion's Club, formerly known as the Mountain View Improvement Club, on 168th Ave. NE. From there, the church located in downtown Woodinville in the Woodgate Mall for about five years. Three years ago, the church purchased over 4 acres on 228th St. SE (Canyon Park Road).
