Katie Knauss, 16-year-old resident of Woodinville, danced in the ballet Pavlova, presented by the professional ballet company Ballet Bellevue at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue on Mother's Day weekend.
Katie played the part of a ballet student at the Russian Imperial Theatrical School, the school where Anna Pavlova began her dance career at the age of 10. Pavlova brought the art of ballet to the United States in the early twentieth century.
Katie, daughter of Mark and Kerry Knauss, attends Woodinville High School. She has been a ballet student for four years and is currently a student at Turning Pointe in Woodinville and Ballet Arts Center in Bellevue. Her previous professional experience includes the role of a Lilac Fairy attendant in the Ballet Bellevue production of Sleeping Beauty.
