Compost bins and techniques at Market
The City of Woodinville is joining the Woodinville Farmers Market in selling home compost bins and demonstrating home composting techniques from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 7, July 12, August 16, and September 6 at the Woodinville Farmers Market.
The Market is located in the east parking lot of the Old School House at 13203 NE 175th Street in Woodinville. The event is being funded by the King County Solid Waste Division and the Washington State Department of Ecology.
The home compost bins will be available to Woodinville residents for a discounted price of $15. The bins are the extra large 21-cubic-foot models and are rodent and canine resistant. The bins come ready to assemble and easily fit into any car. Also, a Master Composter will be on hand to give tips, demonstrations, and free composting guides.
Finished compost is a valuable soil supplement that home gardeners can effectively use in their yards. For more information regarding the compost bin sale and demonstration, call Deborah Knight, Recycling Coordinator, City of Woodinville, at 489-2700, ext. 285 (e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org). After hours, callers are urged to leave a message.
