NSJH teacher honored for excellence in education
The 1997 Washington Award for Excellence in Education recipients are recognized for their leadership, contributions, and commitment to education. In the Northshore School District, Jon VandeMoortel has been given the Christa McAuliffe Award for excellence in teaching.
Skyview ninth graders make a difference
All 260 ninth graders at Skyview Junior High in Bothell recently celebrated the culmination of their year-long project, "Breakout." The students began working on an area of interest in which each did research and became an expert on.
High School graduation ceremonies
Northshore high schools will graduate approximately 1,263 students at the Seattle Center Mercer Arena in June. The Bothell High School ceremony is June 11; Inglemoor's is June 12; and Woodinville High School's is June 13.
Interfaith Baccaluarate Service
An Interfaith Baccaluarate Service will be held for 1997 Woodinville High School graduates on Sunday, June 8 at 4 p.m. The service will be inclusive of all faith communities.
New assistant principal at Northshore Junior High
Mr. James Ivory, currently the administrative assistant at North Middle School in Everett, has been hired as an assistant principal at Northshore Junior High.
Wacky Weather Workshop at Wellington
The Wellington PTA recently sponsored a Wacky Weather Workshop science night that featured a slide show by weatherman Larry Schick and the opportunity for students to build their own backyard weather stations.
Beach Day in the rain?
The local band Firewater played at Woodinville High School's annual Beach Day, held last Friday. Wet weather moved the talent show indoors, but didn't prevent students fom enjoying themselves.
