New assistant principal at Northshore Junior High
Mr. James Ivory, currently the administrative assistant at North Middle School in Everett, has been hired as an assistant principal at Northshore Junior High.
Mr. Ivory has worked in education for the past 21 years. He recently earned his principal's credential through Seattle Pacific University. From 1990 to 1996, he worked as a sixth and eighth grade block teacher, advised the Readiness to Learn Subcommittee of the Governor's Council on Education Reform and Funding, served as a member of the Everett School District's Strategic Planning Committee, and provided multicultural-based education for gifted and at-risk students.
"We're fortunate to have someone with James's experience with students in the transition grades join Northshore's administrative team," commented Harry Vanikiotis, Executive Director of Secondary Education. "We look forward to his bringing a fresh perspective in working with students and promoting student achievement."
Ivory will begin his job in Northshore on July 1. He takes the place of assistant principal Gretchen Rowe, who is moving to Timbercrest Junior High. Mr. Ivory lives in Everett with his wife and children.
