The Wellington PTA recently sponsored a Wacky Weather Workshop science night that featured a slide show by weatherman Larry Schick and the opportunity for students to build their own backyard weather stations. The goal of the event, organized by Don Brocha, Claudia Carter, and Jerry Hopple, was to encourage students to use their stations to make observations throughout the summer. In addition, a Weather Watcher Hotline has been created for students to call in their forecasts.
Schick's weather column in this paper will publish the names of those students who call in. Advanced Technology Labs contributed the thermometers for the workshop and will provide weather hotline.
