Lions celebrate anniversaries

   The Bothell and Woodinville Lions are holding a joint anniversary June 21 at the West Coast Bellevue Hotel. The Bothell group, 60 years old, and the Woodinville Lions, 30 years, provide assistance to those in need throughout the year. The anniversary celebration will begin at 6 p.m. with no-host cocktails, followed at 7 p.m with a buffet dinner. The program will begin at 8 p.m. Cost of the event is $25 per person. Old-fashioned picnic

   Bothell Parks is planning family fun, games, and a hot dog roast June 26 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Blyth Park Picnic shelter. Cost is $3 for adults and $2 for children (must be with an adult). Registration is required. Call 486-3256, ext. 4377.

Tea Society to hold meeting

   The newly-formed Northwest Tea Society will host its first meeting June 17 at Columbia Winery from 7-9 p.m. Bill Holland of Todd & Holland Tea Merchants will pour some of his firm's fine teas and speak. Light tea snacks will be served; there will be no admission charge for this first meeting. Persons planning to attend should RSVP to the society at (206) 546-8523.

New market opens

   Country Village in Bothell will feature a Farmers' Market beginning June 20. It will continue through Oct. 10, open each Friday (except July 4) from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Shoppers at the market will find fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs and perennials, baked goods, and cut flowers provided by local growers.
