Big drug busts in Woodinville, Redmond
More than 140 marijuana plants, $35,000 worth of drying buds and a half-pound of packaged marijuana and assorted other drugs were seized in two related drug busts near Woodinville and Redmond last week.
Canterbury, city talks mired
The city of Woodinville and the Canterbury Criers Association have yet to reach an agreement on rights-of-way and the development of vacant lots in the downtown Canterbury Square condominium park. A March 1998 trial date has been set for the association's lawsuit.
To vote or not to vote
The Woodinville City Council will be voting at their June 9 regular meeting on a resolution banning votes during study sessions. If passed, Resolution 126 would amend council procedures.
New deputy fire chief selected
On June 3rd, the Woodinville Fire & Life Safety District Commissioners heard Chief Steve Smith recount his selection process for a deputy fire marshal. At the conclusion, Smith recommended that the board appoint Joel Kuhnhenn to the position.
Bothell sets moratorium on cell tower permits
The Bothell City Council moved to place a moratorium on permitting for cellular phone relay towers for the next six months at its June 2 meeting. Bothell will be looking at siting towers on city buildings and property for regulation and revenue.
