Picnic celebrates summer in LFP

   Lake Forest Park community members are invited to an old-fashioned picnic June 21 at the Horizon View Park. Headliner for the day will be an orienteering extravaganza beginning at 10 a.m. Sign up near the park's parking lot.
   Other events include: songs, crafts, and stories for ages 4+ from noon to 2 p.m.; tips and demonstrations by master gardeners from 1 to 3 p.m.; blood pressure tests and safety tips from noon to 4 p.m.; science fun for kids, ages 5-12, at 2 and 3:30 p.m.; tennis, basketball, horseshoes, soccer, croquet, wiffle ball, running/walking trails, and a toddler playground are all available.
   Bring your own picnic and blanket. The Toucans Steel Drum Band will play at 7 p.m. Call 368-5440 for details.

McAuliffe hosts open house

   State Senator Rosemary McAuliffe, D-Bothell, will hold an open house June 25 from 3 to 6 p.m. at her new district office, upstairs at 10116 Main St., Suite 203 in Bothell. Refreshments will be provided. The new office will serve as a local gathering place for people to come for information about their local schools and communities. For more information, call 670-8375.

Antique tractors, engines at meet

   The annual Antique Tractor/Gas Engine Show and Swap Meet will be held June 21 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jubilee Farm, 300 W. Snoqualmie River Rd. in Carnation. The event will feature 1940s farming equipment, plowing demonstrations, a tractor parade at 1 p.m., free tractor rides, pony rides, and a flea market. Admission is a $1 donation; kids under 12 are free.
