Three performances this week at Chateau Ste. Michelle

Festival on the Green Chateau Ste. Michelle's Summer Festival on the Green will feature three performances this week: Mary Chapin Carpenter, Natalie Cole, and the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra.
   Mary Chapin Carpenter, singer/songwriter, will perform Tuesday night. With more than eight million albums sold worldwide, five Grammy Awards, two Country Music Association Awards, as well as many other honors, Carpenter's popularly continues to grow.
   A graduate from Brown University in 1981 with a B.A. degree in American Civilization, she worked day jobs while performing in clubs around Washington, D.C., and then in 1985, landed a recording contract with Columbia Records in Nashville. Hometown Girl was Carpenter's debut album. Her sixth album, A Place In the World, features 12 new songs written by Carpenter and performed by members of her band and several special guests.
   The Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra Concert will be performed prior to the Woodinville fireworks. The Philharmonic will perform works by American composers, patriotic music, and a variety of show tunes.    Natalie Cole will perform this Saturday. The daughter of jazz and pop legend Nat "King" Cole, she has a successful career as a jazz and R&B vocalist.
   She made her stage debut at age 11 and sang in college and recorded her first work at Curtis Mayfield's Curtom studios in Chicago. From there, she signed with Capitol Records, and recorded the hits "Inseparable," "Natalie," "Thankful," "Unpredictable," "I Love You So," "This Will Be," "Inseparable," "Our Love," and "I've Got Love on My Mind." Under the Epic label, she continued to record hits such as "Jump Start," "I Live for Your Love," "Over You," and "Pink Cadillac."
   Cole recorded "When I Fall in Love," a number her father recorded in 1957, on her album Everlasting. Her 1991 release Unforgettable with Love earned her Grammy awards and sold over five million copies.
