Money back offer on vehicle/vessel registration fee
Legislation, effective July 27, 1997, will allow the Washington State Department of Licensing to refund vehicle and vessel license fees if any of the following occurs:
If the vehicle/vessel is sold before the beginning date of the next registration period, and the payer of the fees returns the new, unused, never affixed license tabs/decal to Licensing before the beginning date of the new registration period.
If the vehicle/vessel was destroyed before the beginning date of the next registration period.
If the vehicle/vessel was permanently removed from the state before the beginning date of the next registration period.
If the tabs/decals were purchased after the owner has sold the vehicle/vessel.
If the vehicle/vessel is currently licensed in Washington, is subsequently licensed in another jurisdiction and the expiration date of the Washington license is refundable.
