Invitation to fellow Kansans

  Dear Fellow Kansans,
Come meet new friends and old who are from Kansas! Remember those cornfields, sunflowers, hot and sunny summers, threats of tornadoes, wind and old fashioned picnics? Some of us are here because of Boeing, others for the military, some just wanted to be in God's country. Kent Kansas Days is celebrating all those born or raised in Kansas on September 6, 1997, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Burlington-Green Gazebo Park at Meeker and Railroad in downtown Kent. Parking is available throughout downtown Kent.

We will be having a picnic lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Bring your own picnic lunch or purchase one from one of our local restaurants. Drinks, dessert and eating utensils will be provided. Games, Old Time Fiddler's, pie eating contests are in order! Prizes will be given for the oldest, youngest, oen who came the furthest or the shortest and the one who lived in Washington State the longest and shortest.

Walk to the Kent Saturday market, visit our local merchants and the historical museum. Dorothy, Toto, the Wizard, Scarecrow, Tinman and the lion will be in Kent, waiting for you to find them! Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore we are in Kent! See y'all on September 6.
