Maltby Mania Celebration

East County Park & Recreation District has slated their annual Maltby Mania Celebration for August 2 and 3 at the Maltby Community Park, 20322 Broadway, Snohomish.
This weekend celebration will include performances on Saturday by a local Dixie Land Band from noon to 1 p.m., children's entertainer, Tia! from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The Reptile Man will be bringing his menagerie to the park between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. The internationally known steel drum band, Symphony De La Steel, will play Caribbean sounds from 4:30 to 6:30. From 7:30 to 9:30 the classic rock band, Mirage will perform. The closing event for Saturday evening is a fireworks display scheduled for 9:40 (depending upon light conditions) to 10 p.m.
On Sunday, performances begin at 1: p,m, with the Cowboy Jug Band & Fiddle, followed by the tunes of local artist Greg Norgaard from 2:30 to 3:30. The blues and steel guitar group, Kimball Conant and the Fugitives will perform from 4 to the close of the day at 5 p.m.
Also featured at the event will be a wide variety of food concessions, craft and commercial vendors and fun activities for kids of all ages New to this year's event, will be traveling performers (clowns, mimes, jugglers, balloon artists, etc.) roaming the grounds to entertain. Additional parking will be provided by Tileco, a park neighbor, and shuttling between the park and the overflow parking will be available by a Draft Horse Team and Wagon.
