Kathleen Moor Sasnett and her brother, James Moore, will give a concert for friends and well-wishers August 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the University Christian Church 4731 15th Avenue, Seattle.
Sasnett will travel this month to New York to work with Maestro Walter Taussig, the principal coach of German repertoire for the Metropolitan Opera Company. In October, she will be auditioning for managing agencies in New York. She has performed with Seattle Opera for the past year, appearing in "Elektra" and as an understudy for Liu in "Turandot."
Her brother, James, has been studying with Julian Patrick at the UW to obtain his masters and doctoral degrees in vocal performance. In addition, he has been learning the German Heldentenor repertoire and last November sang his first Siegmund in "Die Walkure" in Wisconsin. He, too, will travel to New York to work with Maestro Taussig at the Met, and will be on an audition tour throughout Germany in November.
Elizabeth Lathrop Moore of Seattle Opera will be the accompanist for this musical event, which will feature musical theater and sacred music selections and operatic excerpts by Puccini and Wagner.
This concert is given to help fund their upcoming audition tours to New York and Germany. Admission to the concert is free, but donations will gratefully be accepted. The public is invited.
