Obituary: James "Jimmy" Patronis

  James Alvin Patronis, 76, of Woodinville passed away on Aug. 1, at Cascade Vista Nursing Home in Redmond. He was a native of Quincy, Florida and was a stand-out football player at Leon High School in Tallahassee.
  
   During World War II he served in the US Army Medical Corps. After the war he owned a lumber yard and served as an inspector for the state of Florida. However, he was best known as the band leader for "The Starlighters." He enjoyed golf and fishing in addition to his career in music.
  
   He is survived by his wife, Aza Lee, Lake City, Fla.; daughter, Claire Ashton Heckathorn, Woodinville; grandson, Chris Ashton and great-grandson, Nicholas Ashton, both of Redmond. He also is survived by daughters, Deborah, Donna, Doreen and Cheryl; son, Gregory and 11 grandchildren residing in Florida.
  
   A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Woodinville Second Ward Chapel, 18860 Woodinville-Duvall Road, on Wednesday Aug. 6 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be at Purdy and Walters Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood.
