The Falcon Ridge plat approved

The Bothell City Council recently approved the Falcon Ridge preliminary plat following the Planning Commission's recommendation last month. Falcon Ridge, a 4.65 acre, 15-unit single family housing development nearer Woodinville than Bothell, will be located between N.E. 182nd Pl. and N.E. 181 St. near Victorian Village.
Residents of Pioneer Hills above the development had expressed concerns that removing trees to build houses would result in more windfalls in their neighborhood. But the city attorney said neither the Bothell Municipal Code nor Revised Codes of Washington provided specific restrictions or regulations for blow downs.
A 26,429 square-foot open space tract will preserve 60 trees on 35 percent slopes in the middle of the development. Below the green belt, a 37,000 square-foot commercial lot may be developed. According to a geologist's reports, the development will be built on relatively stable soils as well.
