Northshore names new assistant principals

The Northshore School District has announced the appointment of three assistant principals. Becky Baker, M.E.D., has been appointed half-time assistant principal at Lockwood Elementary. She will also continue as a half-time reading recovery teacher at Frank Love Elementary, where she has worked for the past two years.
Baker is considered a curriculum expert and has conducted training in numerous Puget Sound school districts in literacy and leadership strategies, and standards and assessment. She received her Masters in Education, School Administration from Western Washington University.
Angela B. Kerr has been appointed full-time assistant principal for Woodmoor. She has worked in education for 12 years, with an emphasis in special education. Her teaching has taken her from Tennessee to Alaska, with a short stay in the Northshore School District at Sunrise Elementary. Angela's undergraduate degree is in special education. She recieved her Masters in Education, Administration and Supervision from Memphis State University.
Gary Shelly has worked in the school district since January,1997 on a part-time basis as assistant principal of Maywood Elementary. In addition to his work at Maywood, he has been selected to work part-time in the same capacity at Moorelands Elementary.
Prior to joining Northshore, he worked in the Marysville School District as an assistant principal. During his career, he has provided in-service training in Russia, Hong Kong and mainland China in character development research and school reform strategies. Shelly recieved his doctorate from Seattle Pacific University.
