BOTHELL--The cities of Woodinville and Bothell will host a public meeting August 27 with residents to discuss a new cable fanchise with TCI Cable Inc. Representatives from TCI and city staff will be on hand to discuss specifics.
The meeting will center on the cities negotiations to allow TCI to utilize public right-of-ways for cable services to citizens of the cities.
The talks will also address length of franchise contract, provision for up to 75 cable channels for customers, technical improvements, government, educational and public access programming, and standards of community service among others.
"While the cable franchise we are negotiating cannot address every issue that the public may have with the cable industry and TCI specifically, it is very important that we receive all of the public input possible to insure that what we have negotiated meets, to the greatest extent allowed by law, the needs of our community," Manny Ocampo, Bothell assistant city manager said.
The meeting will be held Aug. 27, 7 p.m. at the Northshore Senior Center, 102001 East Riverside Drive in Bothell.
