Evergreen Community Health Care seeks volunteers for Community Advisors Program
NW News Staff
Evergreen Community Health Care is recruiting volunteers for its Community Advisors Program. The thirty community advisors offer input on health care issues to Evergreen's publicly-elected board of commissioners.
Advisors attend four to six educational sessions a year, where they learn about Evergreen's plans and the health care issues facing the community. They can also serve on special task forces which look into topics such as alternative medicine, regional health care and providing services to low income residents. Advisors also serve as informed ambassadors for Evergreen in the community.
Community advisors serve three year terms, beginning in January. Qualifications include community involvement; professional and/or volunteer experience; strong interpersonal, oral and written skills; and an interest in health care delivery. Advisors must live within the Evergreen district, which encompasses Kirkland, Woodinville, Bothell, Kenmore, Redmond and other portions of unincorporated northeast King County.
Evergreen is accepting applications through Oct. 17. For more information, or to receive an application, please call Susan Smith at 425/899-1880.
