Tolt River fishery closed through November
NW News Staff
CARNATION--The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced last week that the Tolt River was closed to all game fishing from the mouth at Carnation upriver to the U.S. Geological Survey's trolley cable near the confluence of the north and south forks.
The closure is effective from Sept. 21 through Nov. 30.
The river was closed to protect wild summer steelhead. Recent surveys indicate the number of adult steelhead in the river is significantly below normal.
