Northshore Teachers selected for honors

Sandra Frederic, teacher at the Secondary Alternative School, was named Coordinator of the year for 1997 by the Washinton Association of Diversified Occupations Teachers. She was nominated by her peers and selected to receive this honor in recognition of her development of outstanding programs for students, her professional con tributions and leadership to the association.
Marte Peete, fourth/fifth grade teacher at Lockwood, was selected as Washington State Social Studies Techer of the Year for 1996-97 by the Washington State Council for the Social Studies. Her nomination for this award was supported by an administrator, parent and student. Marte was acknowledged for her creative teaching and prgessional development of thematic units of instruction that incorporate the curricular areas of her teaching assignment. Also noted was her contribution to local, state, and antional social studies curricula.
