Backhoe tip-over trips up traffic
A "lowboy" trailer carrying a backhoe flipped on its side last Wednesday afternoon in the 14200 block of the North Bypass in Woodinville when the trailer lost its left tires. Nobody was injured though traffic was slowed while a large earthmover pulled the backhoe upright again and crews spread drying solution over the road.
The accident occurred around 2:11 p.m. Speed was not a factor, police said. About two hours later, another accident at Woodinville-Snohomish Rd. and N.E. 195th St. involving a postal semi-truck and trailer and three passenger vehicles snarled traffic at that busy intersection. Police say the semi-truck swung too wide as it turned westbound on 195th from southbound Woodinville-Snohomish Rd. , striking a Suburban when the driver tapped the accelerator instead the brake. The suburban plowed into a small pickup which hit a small sedan. There were no injuries. The semi driver was ticketed for innatentive driving.
