Miller voted County Council chair
SEATTLE--The King County Council unanimously elected Councilwoman Louise Miller as council chair for 1998 early last week. Miller, who represents Woodinville, Duvall and northeastern King County, has been the vice chair of the council for the past four years. She will replace Jane Hague of Bellevue as chair this coming January. Miller was nominated by Councilman Greg Nickels and seconded by Hague. The council will choose a new vice chair this week. On the council, Miller has chaired the Utilities and Natural Resource Committee, Legislative Steering Committee and the Employment Committee. She has previously served as a state representative and Woodinville Water District Commissioner. Miller said she would "reach out to all members of the council as well as Executive Ron Sims" in developing the council's 1998 agenda. A council retreat has been planned for early January.
