Scout receives Eagle ranking
Garrett Kelly recently was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout.
On the way to receiving the rank of Eagle Scout, Garrett Kelly, of troop 420, earned 27 merit badges. He took snorkeling and junior leader training and received a special heroism award after saving his brother from a drowning accident. His Eagle project was the reconstruction of shelter in the Olympic, an undertaking that involved many members of his family. Kelly first became involved with Boy Scouts in 1991. Later, he was the troop quartermaster for 2 1/2 years, an assistant patrol leader for one year and the junior assistant scoutmaster for his final year in scouting. His father, Mike Kelly, has been the scoutmaster for troop 420 for six years, and his mother, Sandy, was Garrett's den leader during his cub scout years.
