Tax money spent wastefully by commissioners
I was at the Dec. 2nd Woodinville Fire District meeting. I wish more taxpayers would attend these meetings and read the budget. They would be in shock at how our taxes are spent wastefully at times even at the Fire District level. We elect Fire Commissioners to look out for taxpayers, to have a good fire district with the least amount of tax dollars. I feel sorry for the fiscally conservative commissioners who try to do this. They get pounded unfairly in your paper. According to your Dec. 8th report, Commissioner Dave Callon had met with Chief Smith and they had agreed there could be another $50,000 taken out of next year's proposed budget without hurting our fire protection. I just want to say "thank you Commissioner Callon for looking out for us taxpayers."
