Applications available for TAG program
The referral process for the Talented and Gifted Program at the elementary level in grades 3-6, and the Highly Capable Program at the junior high level in grade 7-8 in the Northshore School District begins in January.
Parents thinking about referring a possible candidate must complete an application and turn it in prior to Jan. 23. Application forms will be in the school buildings.
Sixth grade students that score at or above 90% on both Total Reading and Total Language sections of the CTBS are invited to apply for the Humanities Highly Capable Program. Those who score at or above 90% on the Total Mathematics section of the CTBS are invited to apply for the Math Highly Capable Program. Qualified students will then be required to take the Cognitive Abilities Test (COGAT) on a Saturday in March.
A parent information night will be held Jan. 15 in Ricketts Auditorium from 7-9 p.m. Questions can be directed to Ford Waterstrat, Coordinator of Gifted Programs, (425) 489-6228.
