Meetings on Northshore school levies, bond

The Northshore School District, PTA and a community group will hold a number of public meetings in January on two levies and a bond the district has sent to the February 3 ballot. The district will hold meet a meeting at the Leota Junior High library Jan. 12, and at Skyview and Northshore Junior High libraries Jan. 21. All three start at 7:30 p.m. The PTA will hold a forum Jan. 12 at the Bothell Library at 7:30 p.m. And Citizens for Northshore Schools is holding meetings at the Bothell Library Jan. 6 and Woodinville Library Jan. 16, both at 7:30 p.m.
The four-year levies and bond measures are for maintenance and operations, capital projects and technology and total $189.8 million. Taxpayers would continue to pay $5.98 per $1,000 of assessed property value to the district from 1999 through 2002. At least 60 percent of 13,814 voters must cast yes ballots for the election to validate. For more information on the meetings, call Herb Schwarz at (425) 485-2498.
