Teen Northshore Art Show Awards

  The Teen Northshore Art Show was held in conjunction with the Celebrate Woodinville festival March 28 in the Sorenson gym. Eighty-five pieces of art from junior and senior high school students, ages 13 to 19, were submitted for exhibition and judging. The juried event was sponsored by Windermere Real Estate, S.B.C. Inc. in Woodinville, Ben Franklin in Redmond, Seattle Exhibit in Woodinville and the Woodinville Weekly.
   "Dreamingo Mask" by 13 year-old Emi Soga was named Best in Show and won a $50 gift certificate.
   In the three dimensional category, 13-year-old Genevieve Pierce's mask won first place. A clay mask, "Jago-skull," by 15-year-old Alex Grelesiani and pottery entry, "Midnight Flower," by Anne Morris, 17-years old, received honorable mention.
   Among the two dimensional exhibits, first place was awarded to 16-year-old Jennifer Siembor for her charcoal work, "Portrait of Girl." Second place (1st second) was won by an ink drawing by Tyler Finney 15-years-old. Nathan Limprecht, 17, won second place for his colored pencil work,"Night Pond."
   Sarah Simmons, 15, won third place for "He's Hiper!" an oil pastel and mixed medium.
   Honorable mention went to Angela Gifford, 15, for "The Vortex," a work in acrylic and also to Lisa Nolan, 17, for "Life as an Orca," done in tempra and accompanied by a poem.
   Teen Northshore also sponsored a tile project in which participants painted a tile and then took it home. Kathee May, with the assistance of many volunteers, was coordinator for the show.
