Smith Parker Bridge finished

The King County Road Services Division has reopened 328th Way SE just off of Preston-Fall City Road. The road was closed last July to allow for the replacement of the Smith Parker Bridge spanning the Raging River. During construction, the old Smith Parker Bridge was replaced with a wider two-lane structure that still reflects the area's rural setting. In addition to two 11-foot travel lanes, six-foot shoulders and raised pavement markers were added to enhance safety for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists. The bridge, costing an estimated $2.3 million, will be rededicated during a ceremony later this spring.
