Most would pay $4 per month

In 1996 our community passed a bond to build two new schools to house our students. We understood the need for more schools to support the growth in our community. These schools are in the process of being built and are on schedule to open in the fall of 1999.

Now we have a replacement maintenance and operation levy on the ballot. Besides providing about 20 percent of the operating cost of our district, this levy will also help provide start-up costs for our new schools. If we pass this levy it will cost the average homeowner four dollars more per month in 1999 than in 1998. That's the cost of a meal at McDonald's! We voted to house our students; now let's vote to continue supporting their education and to maintain and furnish our schools.
