Volunteers are lively, friendly

In recognition of National Volunteer Week April 19-25, I'd like to express my appreciation for everyone who volunteers in our local communities. The volunteers that staff the Snohomish County Visitor Information Center are one of the liveliest, friendliest groups of people I have ever worked with, and I think their vitality comes from thinking about others and serving others. They help make travel for our visitors a successful time of breaking limits, trying new things and understanding other places and other people.

I don't believe there's anything more significant than connecting with others, thinking of someone besides ourselves, thinking of something besides our own little world, continually learning and growing. Volunteers do that, and they help others do that. So, deep thanks to all volunteers for serving in many, many selfless ways.
