Members of the Seattle Seahawks football team joined with Evergreen Hospital staff and pediatric patients and families to officially open the Seahawks Offensive Line Pediatric Playroom April 23.

The Seahawks' offensive linemen raised $40,000 to build and furnish the room, exceeding the original goal of $30,000. Linemen involved in the project included James Atkins, Howard Ballard, Frank Beede, Greg Bloedorn, Derrick Graham, Walter Jones, Pete Kendall, Kevin Mawai and Grant Williams.

The new playroom features built-in cupboards and bookcases to hold games, books, videos and other activities. There is built-in seating for adults and older children and 'kid size' furniture for the smaller ones. A separate area contains a kitchenette. A multimedia center from GTE will allow patients to catch up on homework or enjoy video games.
