Inglemoor musicians shine in Orlando

  On April 11, the Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble and Orchestra from Inglemoor Senior High School competed in the All American Music Festival held in Orlando, Florida. Musical groups from all over the country participated, including several of similar size from Idaho, Ohio and North Carolina.
   The Wind Symphony, the Orchestra and the Jazz Ensemble all earned superior ratings, and each finished in first place. The Inglemoor Concert Band won the "Outstanding Concert band" award, which is given to the group receiving the highest points at the contest in all divisions.
   Several students from Inglemoor also competed in a solo contest at the festival. Their results are as follows; Tony Shulz, Trumpet Solo, Superior rating; Ren Arizumi, Cello Solo, Superior rating; Patty Baugh, Tuba Solo, Superior rating; Nathaniel Thompson, French Horn Solo, Superior rating; Trevor Reed, Bass Solo, Superior rating; Grace Yoo, Violin Solo, Superior rating. In addition, Grace Yoo won the "Outstanding Soloist" award for the week and was presented with a new violin valued at $3,000.
   All the Inglemoor High School Instrumental groups are under the direction of Ted Christensen.
