Eugene Robinson and students at Timbercrest's 'Leaders of the Pack' assembly
Timbercrest Junior High held their second "Leaders of the Pack" student recognition assembly April 10. These multimedia assemblies honor students' excellence in academics, performance arts and sciences, as well as positive role modeling. Each assembly uses student-produced videos, music, and special staging to create an awards-show pace and styling.
ASB presidents, Trent Neugebauer and Monica Patterson were the program MC's, who introduced a series of special presentations. All three grade level honor rolls were presented using music video formats which contained a scrolling list of students' names who achieved a 3.5 grade point average or better. In addition to academic success, the accomplishments of the school's math and science Olympiad teams were honored. The district's C.P. Johnson Humanitarian Award was presented to two Timbercrest freshmen, Trent Neugebauer and Shawna O'Hara. Over fifty other C.P. Johnson honorees voted by classmates of the three grade levels were also recognized during the assembly. Making a very special appearance, former Seahawk Eugene Robinson, now a free safety with the Atlanta Falcons, addressed the assembly on the importance of respect in building the total person.
