Red Hooks battle for tie
In over-40 baseball action, the Woodinville Red Hooks battled the West Seattle Mariners to an 11-11 tie. Excellent pitching by Gary Shelly and Mark Connaway, and good team batting offset a comedy of errors in the field, as the Red Hooks fought back from a 5-1 deficit to tie the game at seven and then at nine. The Hooks then took an 11-9 lead, only to blow it in the seventh inning. Woodinville infielder Brian Tyber cited poor night vision and an inability to focus on moving objects as contributing to the seventh inning choke.
