Recycling days set

On Saturday, May 2, the Public Works Department of the City of North Bend will sponsor the first 1998 Spring Cleanup/Special Recycling Collection day in the Snoqualmie Valley. The Public Works crew and contractors will be at the gymnasium parking lot behind Mt. Si High School along Schusman Ave. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until full. All Valley households including those in unincorporated King County are invited to bring recylables to this event.

At the Cleanup residents can properly dispose of the following household (not commercial) recyclables that are usually difficult to recycle in this area:
Refrigerators and freezers ($10 each, $15 for large and air conditioners); major appliances; scrap metal; tires; vehicle batteries; used motor oil and filters; antifreeze; reusable household goods and styrofoam loose packing fill (in bags).

The Cleanup Day/Special Recycling Collection in Carnation will be Saturday, June 20. Fall cleanups will be in August at Duvall and September at Snoqualmie. For more information or to volunteer, contact Cecelia Boulais, Snoqualmie Valley Recycling Coordinator at 425-788-1185.
