Woodinville Garden Club spring plant sale

Now in its eleventh year, the Woodinville Garden Club's annual spring plant sale will be held on Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville. The 50 members of the Woodinville Garden Club devote over 1000 hours to this sale project, which provides funding for the club's many civic beautification projects, including seasonal plantings at the Woodinville Library, the Evergreen Convalescent Center, the downtown Woodinville planter boxes, and a sizable donation to the Jerry Wilmot Park.
This year one hundred hanging baskets will be available making the perfect Mother's Day gift. Featured will be 50 twelve-inch cedar hanging baskets and 50 moss covered hanging baskets each with colorful and unique plants for a front porch or deck. Each basket will be labeled with tags showing how much sun these plants will require.
As in past years, shoppers will find a wide assortment of annuals, perennials, herbs and vegetables, geared to the Northwest garden. As always, service at the sale is individualized with club members available to offer planting tips and answer questions. To allow shoppers to continue browsing once they have selected plants, members are available to take plants to a holding area where they are kept until the purchaser is ready to check out.
With over 14,000 plants from which to select, there is something for every gardener, no matter how green (or not) your thumb is - and at prices below what you would expect to pay at the area's top nurseries.
